Review of U.S. Mortgage Companies
Holding Lenders to a Higher Standard
About Us
The Lender Review Board couples the resources of both
Federal and State Regulatory agencies with our own comprehensive
review of each U.S. lender in order to take
the guesswork out of choosing a responsible mortgage company.
In an effort to curb excessive costs and poor service, we
go beyond what is required of each company by RESPA (Real
Estate Settlement Procedures Act) by actively monitoring
each office's rates and fees, as well as incorporate public service records in order to get a more accurate assessment of
their business practices.
We feel that consumers have the most influence in enforcing
a higher standard for the industry through education and awareness. Companies
that continue to breach their responsibilities by putting
their own interests first will get the
message in a more direct way than legislation currently allows.
Please Note: Our comprehensive evaluations are specific to the individual offices of each company. Our assesment of a particular office has no bearing on our evaluation of any other office within the same organization.
We do not currently publish individual company evaluations for multiple reasons that directly relate to the thoroughness of our review process, including, but not limited to:
- If the mortgagee or any officer, partner, director, principal, or employee of the mortgagee is subject to unresolved findings through any governmental audit, investigation, or review.
- Under
indictment for, or have ever been convicted
of, business practices that do not
conform
to accepted mortgagee guidelines or
that demonstrate predatory lending.
- A particular office's volume of loans aren't sufficient
enough to get an accurate assessment of their activity.
- Companies may be temporarily suspended from activity
in cases where further investigation is required.
- If we feel that the financial fortitude a particular
company may be in question regarding their current and future ability
to finance their loan portfolio.
Our evaluations are ongoing and we reserve the right to
revoke any company's involvement in our 'Quick Connect' program. Individual
offices are notified on a case by case basis.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please
don't hesitate to contact us.
And again, thank you for your continued support.
